What is a NICOP?: A National Identity Card for Overseas Pakistanis (NICOP) is a government-issued identity card for Pakistani citizens who live abroad. It allows them to travel to Pakistan without a visa and to access certain government services.
Who is eligible for a NICOP?
Pakistani citizens who are nationals of a country with a dual nationality arrangement with Pakistan are eligible for a NICOP. The following countries are eligible for online NICOP applications:
- Australia
- Belgium
- Canada
- Egypt
- France
- Iceland
- Ireland
- Italy
- Jordan
- Netherlands
- New Zealand
- Sweden
- Switzerland
- Syria
- United Kingdom
- United States
- Bahrain
- Finland
- Denmark
- Germany*
- Norway*
Children of Pakistani parents who have grown up in Germany and who have acquired German nationality in addition to their parents’ nationality are also eligible for a NICOP. Norwegian nationals who have previously renounced their Pakistani nationality are eligible to apply for a NICOP after acquiring a resumption certificate.
How to apply for a NICOP online
To apply for a NICOP online, you can use the Pak ID app or the Nadra website.
Pak ID app
- Download the Pak ID app from the Google Play Store or the Apple App Store.
- Create an account by entering your name, phone number, and email address.
- Select the “New/Fresh NICOP” option.
Nadra website
- Go to the Nadra website.
- Click on the “Online Services” tab.
- Select the “NICOP” option.
- Click on the “New/Fresh NICOP” option.
NICOP fee for Pakistanis in Australia and Germany
The fee for a new NICOP is different depending on the country you apply from. The following fees apply to Pakistanis in Australia and Germany:
- Australia: $39
- Germany: $39
