Interior Minister Sarfraz Bugti has warned that the government will not compromise on the deportation of illegal immigrants after the deadline of October 31st.
In a press conference, Bugti said that the government has established holding centers to detain all illegal immigrants, including women, children, and senior citizens. These centers will provide food, security, and medical care to all detainees.
Bugti said that no one will be sent to jail, but those who do not have the necessary documentation will be deported after their identity has been verified. Illegal immigrants will only be allowed to take Rs. 50,000 cash per family with them, but they can use banking channels to transfer more money to their home countries.
The minister warned that the government will take strict action against Pakistani citizens who facilitate illegal immigrants in any way, as this is a violation of the law. He added that the government is collecting data on those who have used fake ID cards to commit theft and that these individuals will face severe consequences. The government will also confiscate any property that has been purchased using fake ID cards.
Bugti said that the government has complete data on all illegal immigrants, which was collected through geo-fencing. The government knows where they are living, whether it is in a village or a city. Therefore, the government is again appealing to illegal immigrants to return to their home countries voluntarily, or they will face hardships when they are arrested by the government.
Bugti said that the government will welcome investors who come to Pakistan with a legal visa and the required documentation. However, those who are living illegally and have established businesses will be sent back, and their businesses will be confiscated.
For those who complain of mistreatment, the ministry has established a complaint cell with a hotline number where they can lodge their complaints. Bugti said that all forces have been directed to ensure that there is no manhandling or mistreatment and to ensure the dignity of women and elderly citizens in a firm way.
