Pakistan Introduces Game-Changing Online Land Record Service

Federal Minister for Overseas Pakistanis and Human Resource Development, Chaudhry Salik Hussain, announced a game-changer for Pakistanis abroad. The government is launching an online land record service specifically designed to address their difficulties with property transfers. This initiative aims to not only make things easier for overseas Pakistanis but also attract more foreign investment.

The Minister met with a delegation from the Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ICCI) led by President Ahsan Zafar Bakhtawari. During the meeting, he shared that his ministry is already working on the project alongside NADRA (National Database and Registration Authority) and other important institutions. Initially, the service will be available through the offices of community welfare attaches in Pakistani embassies located in countries with a large Pakistani diaspora.

This online service is a big step towards resolving a major pain point for overseas Pakistanis who often face challenges managing their properties back home. Minister Hussain also highlighted plans to involve the business community in various boards within the ministry.

Why does this matter for overseas Pakistanis?

The ICCI President applauded the Minister’s initiative. He emphasized the importance of overseas Pakistanis, calling them valuable assets and ambassadors for the country. He stressed that their difficulties deserve priority attention. Overseas Pakistanis have consistently played a crucial role in Pakistan’s development, and this online service is a way to show appreciation for their contributions.
