In a bid to ease the licensing process and reduce crowding at offices, the Punjab government has launched an online system for obtaining a learner driving license. This development comes after Punjab caretaker Chief Minister Mohsin Naqvi received complaints about networking issues and slow processes at various offices in Lahore.
Applicants can now apply for a learner driving license online by following these steps:
- Visit the official DLIMS licensing website (https://dlims.punjab.gov.pk/) and create an account.
- Fill out the application form.
- Upload the following documents:
- Picture
- Scanned copy/picture of original CNIC’s front and back sides
- A medical certificate signed by a government doctor (if above 50 years old)
- Generate a PSID and pay through ATM, online banking, or mobile banking channels.
Once the application is submitted and the fee is paid, applicants will receive a confirmation message. They can then download the learner’s driver’s license and print it out.
The online learner driving license application system is a welcome move that will make the process more efficient and convenient for citizens. It is also a step in the right direction towards digitizing government services and reducing the need for physical visits to offices.
